We weren't able to get Janica into the charter school for this year, so she'll go to the school she attended last year, and then she and Tegan will be in the same school next year.
As we do every year, last night we gathered together and Jason gave Tegan a Father's Blessing. Because Janica and Kierra are young, I opened my eyes periodically to keep them in line. Kierra was playing, but Janica was crying. Jason can be a little long winded while praying, so I thought that was the reason. Goodness knows I wanted to cry plenty of times growing up when it was my mom's turn to pray! Well the prayer ended and Janica couldn't keep her sobs quiet any longer. She came running into my arms and cried "He grows up so fast!" She was crying because Tegan was getting older and starting school. Isn't that sweet?
So this morning, for the first time all summer, we were all up before 8 am. Jason cooked sunshine toast for breakfast, made a lunch for Tegan and I took pictures.
Please note the special school clothes. Khaki or navy pants or shorts and the shirt must be white, navy, maroon or gray. Isn't he so handsome!
Tegan loves to learn and I know this year will be no exception!

What a dapper fellow! Love his GQ pose on the porch.
He looks so grown-up in that last picture! We don't start school until the 26th so we'll be doing blessings next week. Isn't it strange to think your kids are in school?
BTW, did you go to the reunion?
Interestingly enough, I chose to not attend the reunion. Oh well. Maybe I would have gone if you did, but I guess we'll never really know. We'll just have to see how things work out in another ten years! ;)
Nah, I'm sure I'll have experienced death by teenagers in ten years!
How's your, um, project going? Any news to report?
I'll be interested to know how you like the charter school.
