You know the adage of be careful what you ask for because you just might get it? Well I learned on Friday to be careful of what I ask for because the whole thing just might blow up in my face!!
I work on Fridays from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and Jason goes to work as soon as I am off and doesn't get home until after midnight. This last Friday, I got off work as usual and I was tired. I wasn't at all looking forward to cleaning the house or cooking dinner and I was looking for a way to get out of it. I decided to call my mom and invite us over for dinner. That way I wouldn't have to cook or clean up and my kids would be entertained as well.
Well it turned out that my mom was tired too. She didn't want to cook or clean up either. We got to talking about what we could do to combine forces and found that between the two of us, we had the ingredients for tacos. That is to say that I had all the ingredients for tacos and she had tortillas. So I'm not really sure how it happened, but by the end of the call, it was decided that I would make tacos and my mom and brother Carson would come to my house to eat them.
Remember that I had been working all day, so the house was a mess. That meant that after browning the hamburger and cutting up all the vegetables, I really quick cleaned the living room and kitchen - I even mopped the floor! I really moved fast because I had it all done before my mom and brother arrived. Sure it helped that they were a little late, but I still did it.
So somehow instead of avoiding cooking dinner, I ended up cooking for additional people AND cleaning my house - which I wasn't going to do originally.
See what I mean? Be careful what you ask for because it could all blow up in your face.

that is so funny! I bet, after it was all over and you were going to bed, you had a good night. Sometimes, you just need good company. yeah, I remember once praying for patience, I will never do that again!
I think the mother in this story is very lucky to have a daughter who is so willing to be flexible AND generous! The mother is also pretty clever (like her daughter!)
