Scenes from February
Tegan, Janica and Kierra enjoying their Christmas present from Grandma and Grandpa
Tegan is an amazing reader. He reads words wherever he goes now. I remember back at the beginning of the school year when he would grumble (whine) and complain (cry) when it was time to do his reading each night. Now his biggest gripe is that the books are too easy for him. How great is that!
Janica still struggles with using the toilet for all of her bathroom needs. She seems to view it as optional some of the time. I know she needs more attention and guidance. I am happy to be able to provide both. I am her mom, after all. Otherwise she loves her dance class and is always willing to show off new dance moves, like the monkey dance and the hula. That reminds me, someday I'll have to record her doing those dances. They are fantastic.
Kierra is best described as "mini me." She loves being happy and making people around her happy too. Her vocabulary is expanding at an incredible rate. She uses short sentences and I've had other people who aren't around her all the time comment on how well they can understand her. Well, she is my daughter and she needs to be brilliant to keep up with her brother and sister, which she does admirably.
All in all, things are well in Shandaland, and yes that is a real place, at least in my mind. I guess I just need to drum up a few more readers and then my life will be complete.

Welcome back! Sounds like your kids are doing well. Rachel doesn't quite have the whole toilet thing down yet either, so . . .
So the working world was nice while it lasted, but there is nothing quite like being with your kids.
Maybe you should try to convince the rest of your siblings to join the blogosphere. I think that until you have one of your own, you never realize how great they are, or how much comments are appreciated!
I've been meaning to call and see how your trip to San Fran was. How fun. I think its great that Tegan now complains that the reading is too easy. As for the toilet thing, hopefully Roderic will get that down before Kindergarten.
