The next day was Friday, and for those of you paying attention at home, Tegan had thrown-up the night before so he was staying home. Jason and I waited until they were all down for a nap, and then snuck back up to Ogden to replace the battery in the Lumina and try again. Sure enough, it still didn't work. We decided it must be the starter. Very frustrating!
Through it all, we discussed the option of buying a new vehicle. We looked online at several dealerships and finally found a car we liked. We took the kids over to my mom's and drove down to the dealership in Bountiful. By the time we got there, they were going to close in an hour. We test drove the car, decided we liked it and started the paperwork. Because it was so close to closing time, we took the car home for the night and finished everything the next day, which was Saturday.
It was all worth it because we love our new Chevy Uplander! The battery isn't too hard to reach at all! I had rented an Uplander to drive up to Boise to visit Malauna so I already knew I loved it. Jason tried it out and felt the same way.
I have included pictures with the assistance of my lovely and talented model, Janica.
It is a 2005 and has over 38,000 miles.
Here Janica is demonstrating how easy it is to put a DVD in the fancy DVD player. Even a four year-old could do it! Which could actually be a bad thing, now that I think about it...
The passenger side door automatically opens with a push of a button. We all really love this feature!
Here Janica demonstrates how we would put Kierra in her car seat. Although you can't see it, she is using a doll instead.
We are all very excited. Of course now we probably won't be able to go anywhere in our fancy new van because of the price of gas and all our extra money goes into a car payment, which we haven't had in seven years, but it sure looks pretty in the driveway!! Jason is sick now and it looks like Tegan might be having a relapse, but who cares? We have finally joined the minivan club! Some things are just important, right?

Welcome to the Mini Van Club! It looks like a great vehicle for your family. I'm excited to see you on a trip in your new van.
And good luck with your sick house.
Hmmm...I don't have a mini van...just a Prius and old beat up truck.
I feel so bad and lonely without friends from the mini van club...
sigh...I am going off to my corner
We also recently acquired a new car payment. We needed a new car, but I miss the days of having our car paid off.
