This week so far

I know it is only Thursday, so it is a bit early to be doing a synopsis of my week, but since I don't know too far in advance how much time I will have, I'm doing it while I can.

Sunday I watched the final installment of the the Jane Austen movies on PBS. It was part 2 of Sense and Sensibility and like all of them, I loved it! As opposed to the Emma Thompson version that was released in 1995, this one had an actress playing Eleanor who was actually in her early 20s! The older brother was more spineless, the Edward Ferrars was a Hugh Grant lookalike, and with the movie lasting 3 hours instead of 2, there was more detail to the story, which I enjoyed. However, Alan Rickman, who played the colonel in the Emma Thompson version, is the best possible choice ever. The guy in the PBS version was nice and all, but had nothing to Rickman. Sigh. Oh well. You can't have everything. So all of the Jane Austen movies from PBS are available on DVD. In case you were wondering.

I still love our minivan. Jason and I look for excuses to drive anywhere. For example, the new choir director asked if she could come over and get a box of choir music that I've had for the last 18 months since I was released. She lives across the street and one house away from us. Clearly it was too far to walk and we wanted to help her out, so Jason drove the box over. What a gentleman!

Kierra seriously copies my every move! She calls Jason "Jason," because that is what I call him. I'll be sitting on a chair which my head in my hands and when I look up, Kierra is doing the same thing. She'll repeat what I say and then just smile at me. What a cutie!

Janica copies me too, but not as much as Kierra. Janica will go into my closet and pull out my shirts to wear. Since my shirts are like dresses, she'll then have to put on my shoes too! She also really enjoys her dance class. When she's at home, she have dance class for Kierra and of course be the teacher. Only when she is the teacher, her name is Nancy. I don't know where the name came from, but I think it is very cute.

Tegan has found some friends in the neighborhood and plays outside with them most every day. I can see them outside the window so I can keep track of what they are doing. He doesn't like it when it is cold and he can't play outside, like yesterday. Or when his friends aren't home to play with him. The other day, he was sitting outside on the sidewalk, just waiting. When I asked him about it, he told me he didn't like going to his friends houses to see if they could play. I can assure you that his friends don't have the same problem since they seem to ring our doorbell all the time. Not as fun. I'm sure he'll outgrow his shyness in time, after all, look at his mother, but in the meantime it is fun to have him want to stay so close to the house.

Without raining on anyone's parade or ruining any surprises, I just want to announce that someone in my family received a very important letter from Salt Lake City this week. It is a letter that will have a very deep impact on the rest of this person's life. For more information, stay tuned!

Thank you for not ruining any surprises. I totally missed the rest of Masterpiece theatre on PBS. I guess I needed your weekly reminders.
